Accommodation
Accommodation is key in the travel industry. Most tourists; inbound outbound and domestic, are likely to need accommodation when travelling. It brings a massive profit into the industry. Different types of accommodation are Services and Non-Serviced. The difference between the two is that they are usually defined by the type of travelling the tourists are doing and the type of experience they hope to have on their trip. For example business or luxury tourists would be more likely to use serviced accommodation as it may make the visit more enjoyable. Examples of high budget serviced accommodation are The Hilton Hotel however lower budget serviced accommodation around the UK involve companies such as The Premier Inn and The Travel Lodge. Serviced accommodation provides somewhere for them to stay and other services for example washing of clothes, providing meals and more. However non-serviced accommodation may be used for tourists who are on a low budget holiday or travelling for other reasons than luxury or business. Non-serviced accommodation often includes providing your own accommodation for you to stay in like a tent or your own caravan. It may also include staying in a flat/house/cottage which is non-serviced and you have to provide for yourself. Reasons for using this type of accommodation could be if you are attending cultural events e.g. festivals or taking part in active sports which does not require luxury.
